This owes it’s origins to the idea that a footprint is left behind as a result of an individuals activities. Many projects help alleviate the effects of our impact on the environment and by purchasing a carbon offset we can contribute to these projects.

Eco-friendly

Environmentally friendly & Eco-friendly are synonyms used to refer to materials considered to inflict minimal harm on the environment.

Fairtrade

Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability & fair terms of trade for farmers & workers in the developing world; moving from a position of vulnerability to security & economic self-sufficiency.

Less Landfill

Pieces that were on their way to the landfill before we re-routed them here! The quality & luxury of a Designer label at a better price for both you & the earth.

Made in Great Britain

Collections that are manufactured & sourced within Great Britain will cut our carbon footprint. There are more British designers beginning to think about ethical issues & we hope to add more to the mygreenlipstick family in the future.

Organic

Organic refers to the way fibres are grown & produced. It is based on a system of farming that maintains & replenishes soil fertility without the use of toxic & persistent pesticides & fertilizers.

Recycled

Re-cycled fabrics are made from pre- & post-consumer waste, which are collected, unraveled, then re-spun into yarn for weaving.

Vegan

Many vegans believe that to use animals, which are without choice in the matter, is a form of exploitation & should be avoided. Many believe a vegan way of life is not only healthier but that it is kinder to the environment & of course to the animals.

Vintage

The term vintage is used to describe fabric, which was manufactured in a non-contemporary era. It’s the ultimate way to be green because you’re using what is already in circulation; there is something deeply stylish & original about Vintage.
